The gîte       100 meters away from the river Charente, the Maison d'Elise is a 190 m2 big traditional house dating from the XIX century . The gîte will accomodate 6 people (3 bedrooms) in great comfort (2 bathrooms and 2 separate toilets) throughout the year as the house benefits from central heating and a working fireplace (wood provided). The kitchen is equiped with all the modern comforts too: gas cooker, oven, dishwasher, micro-wave oven, fridge, toaster and kettle. The downstairs bathroom also benefits from a washing mashine.       The garden is 420 m2 big and enclosed in stone walls. In the garden you will find a very large lawn and mixed borders. Parts of the lawn are sheltered from the sun thanks to the large walnut tree in the middle of the lawn. The garden provides a very safe area for children to play, a barbecue, a large table and chairs.       The playroom is 40 m2 large and contains a TV with French channels, games and mini table football. English channels can be provided to UK residents who bring their decoders with them by contacting a local installer who will realign the satelitte dish (cost available on request).       4 bikes (2 adults et 2 teenagers) are available.       The owner who read History, Geography and History of Art at University can offer guided tours of the surrounding area in English. A 3 hours tour is offered free for guests staying 2 weeks or more.       During your stay you will be able to enjoy a free guided tour for one person of Martell's premises in Cognac.       Languages spoken: English and German.       Animals are welcome.   Conditions       Towels and bed sheets are provided.       Water, electricity and gas are included in the price.       House cleaning services are available locally (12 euros per hour).       The gîte has a telephone line and can receive telephone calls. Outgoing calls are possible using a phone card.       Wood is provided for the fireplace.
